YOU CAN STILL BE A CHRISTIAN AND HAVE FUN

Hey people....God knows I already decided I wasn't going to blog till after my exam but I was inspired to do this. I really don't know who you're that God had to interrupt my reading just so that you could see this before you make your final decisions. He obviously cares about you, it's almost 2am and He compelled me to do this.

I may not proof-read this article so, bear with me if there are grammatical & typographical errors. 

You know, we young generation think that once you give your life to Christ, everything becomes sort of old-fashioned, we possibly may miss out from the fun of this world and all, no partying, no sex, no alcohol, no marijuana, no excitement, no NOTHING...

Emmh....to me, I think it's old-fashioned not to be in Christ, I mean who does that? Many!  When we give our lives to Christ, we don't become old-fashioned, cos anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person, the OLD LIFE IS GONE; A NEW LIFE HAS BEGUN (2Corin5:17). You see, the old-fashioned life is gone....not the other way round.

What about the bad habits?

You can start taking baby steps....the drinking, the smoking, the partying, mehn, even without involving God, that's not life. Have you thought of the medical repercussions of those unhealthy habits? At some point, we all need to make the right choice.

 Can I still be a Christian and have FUN?

YES!! Absolutely....you can still be a Christian and have fun, you can still be a christian and dress gorgeously, drink&party responsibly. All you need to do is bring it a little bit down. You don't have to drink&smoke and get wasted and start doing stuff you know you wouldn't be proud of when your head is clear the next day. You just have to Curtail some of these habits and with time...you will get so used to this new life that you become disgusted by the old habits when  you see people doing it.

 Why can't I  do things the way others do?

Because you're not like them, you're a special one, chosen by God. God's very own possession...do you know what that means? You're His very own, he's property, a holy nation. Let's give an instant, if you bought this very expensive white outfit.....do you wear it to any place like to the market, or mall or farm or school? Of course not, why not?? Because it's so damn expensive to wear to ordinary places like market/farm/school....between, it's a WHITE outfit, it can easily get stained. If you can reason like this for a mere outfit...imagine how inestimable you're of value to God...he doesn't want to lose you to the world.

 As a Christian, how can I live right?

Continual relationship with God and for this to be possible, sin must be avoided. Of course, most times we sin without even knowing it and that is why we should ask for forgiveness continuously.  

What does sin do? Is there a sin smaller than the other?

It breaks our relationship with God. We need the HolySpirit at all times in our lives and when we sin, the Spirit can't stay in a filthy place so we're left on our own and we can't allow that to happen because that's what the devil wants...pleasing the devil displeases God (1John3:4). For the second question, NO...no sin is greater or smaller than the other. SIN IS SIN.....a prostitute is no different than a liar nor a liar  different from a murderer/cheater/kidnapper. Evey sin is equally bad in the eyes of the God.

 One quick example then I'm almost done...lol. 
Let's say Asy is a student, and by 1pm Asy would be having a Math class...reaching the destination, Asy opens the door....entered the class and runs out after about 20seconds? Why didn't Asy stay? There could be only one explanation for this...maybe it wasn't math class. Well, this is what happened, when Asy got into the class, no teaching was going on but there were students in the class including the teacher, everyone was either smoking or drinking or having sex or doing the 2/3 in the class. Asy had to run out from the class after not less than 1 minute, it was intoxicating and disgusting. it was meant to be a math class.
This is how sin causes the Spirit to leave us....it chases the spirit away. God expects us to live right at all times and do what we're meant to do and when we're not doing the right things....we are causing Him not to abide in us.


How do I give my Life to Christ?

Best decision ever....just say the following words below (this is also meant for people who may feel they in one way or other, have lost the bond they have with God)

 "Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. Lord Jesus, I believe that you died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I accept Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen."
